On the release date of Cris Cab’s sophomore mixture, Echo Boom we caught up with the florida native to talk about his recent projects and his beginnings. If you are not familiar, Cris is a 19 year old pop reggae influenced artist from Miami who has recently worked heavily with the likes of Pharrell and Wyclef Jean. I am a big supporter of Cris, I feel he is a creating a sound many other artists try to emulate but often fail. I am excited we were finally able to feature Cris on the site and come away with this interview, check it.

This hands down has to be one of the best music videos I have seen in the past year. The visual is for Austrian hip hop srtist, Left Boy. The video is extremly well done and creative. Dope to see such young and upcoming acts put out work of this quality. Left Boy’s other material is cool to, his voice takes some getting used to but I am a fan. Check it.

Dj Hugh Cosby paid me a visit to the studio the other day. After long talks about the industry and upcoming talent he turned me on to this new female emcee named, Azealia Banks from Harlem. Shes been very viral on the internet as of late and with good reason. She has attitude, shes cute, mean, and dirty all at the same time. Word is Kanye is looking to sign her, he even opened his last DJ set with this track. Check her video for “212″.

Be Street Magazine: Itsbongoboy feature

A couple months ago an email arrived in my junk mail folder from a Alberic Davet. Alberic, emailed me on the part the French publication “Be Street”. Alberic was looking to do a feature on me for the magazine. I thought it was too good to be true so I replied hesitantly, I did not think much about it until today when my copy of the magazine arrived to my house. The outcome is an amazingly curated magazine featuring some of the best art, music and fashion from around the world. The reason I am in the magazine still puzzles me, but I am humbled to say the least. In the article we talk about how the site started, how I got my name, and some of my experiences in the industry.

2011: A year in review

This time last year I was a bit confused (not sexually). But in terms of direction and focus of itsbongoboy. Through 2011 we developed what we feel is a well structured platform to build on. In an effort not to bore you with words, I will walk you through my year with photos of how the year unfolded.

This year I visited my friends in Los Angeles

This year I spent time with kids who make more money then we do. Google: Zach Gordon

This year I attended a bunch of birthday parties

This year I went to parties hosted by Usher's frohawk

This year I saw a lot of tattoos with long subliminal messages that I dont remember

This year I started an online series called "Studio Sessions" where I have my favorite bands come and perform in my living room

This year I met a lot of pretty girls

This year I snuck my way on stage at concerts

This year I learned how to keep track of my finances

This year I went to a strip club with French Montana and had no idea "Shot Caller" was his song

This year I got in situations I cant even try to explain

This year I saw Curren$y perform live in Amsterdam

This year I took a lot of artsy photos

This year I released my first piece of merchandise for sale and had Mac Miller do the commercial for it

This year I cheesed with a lot of people I look up to

This year I experimented with graphics and t-shirts

This year I learned the Knicks are back

more pretty girls

This year I witnessed grillz go back in style

This year I met the Commander and Chief

This year I got a lot of middle fingers flashed at me

This year I witnessed Joe Budden get home schooled

This year I was in situations where I kept my mouth shut

This year I found myself on MTV part of the Europian Music Awards and proceeded to faint

This year I learned bitches want my D***

This year I realized how precious life is

All in all this has been the most amazing year of my life. But none of this would be possible with out the support from the amazing team we have. Major shouts to Martin, Javier, Joseph, Jago, Ben and all the increadible people I was blessed to meet and become friends with.
